HEY PAT.....GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!!!! Making us pay more, so you can get paid????

Back in 1983, Mayor Harold Washington gave his money back to the city, instead of raising taxes. Why can't you do that PAT????

"........As a first step he said he would return 20 percent of his yearly salary, or about $12,000, to the city until ''the present crisis is over.''

i voted for pat dowell. after receiving the "homeless" piece of mail i was very angry. it struck a very deep nerve. after i calmed down i started to reflect. if you look beyond the "humor" and look at the facts they are very disturbing.voted YES to raise property taxes in the worse housing market i can remember. YES on the mayors budget. what about waste and corruption? YES to raise fees and fines. isn't it already too expensive to live in chicago. as hard as it was for me to read this website (i always try to keep an open mind) after getting beyond my initial anger i have to say a lot of this really makes sense. i'm really disappointed and slowly becoming disillusioned.just some thoughts.

why can't alderman and other city officials return part of their salary in times of budget crisis. sounds like a good idea to me.

people are struggling with higher costs everyday and things you might have bought you just have to hold up on. maybe you don't buy that new dress. you wear the old one a little longer. same with shoes or anything else. i mean use common sense. you DON'T raise taxes when regular everyday working people are having a hard time buying food and heating their homes.alderman you may think it's just a little money but let me tell you something every penny and nickel counts when your a single mother with 2 kids struggling to make ends meet while trying to keep them away from gangs and drugs. i'm rambling because cuz i'm sick and tired of our elected officials not doing what their suppose to do. use some everyday common sense. maybe you lose that when you make a hundred thousand dollars a year.

when u make that kind of money you really don't understand the struggles the everyday working person goes through.

You got to be kiddin' me. I just got this in the mail. Is this what we have to choose from. Both Dunkin and Dowell should be ashamed of themselves. Dr. King would be disgusted on how these two Negroes are acting. First the maid mailer from Dowell and now this webpage from Dunkin. I will vote for Obama and not for either one of these Jokers. THis is the kind of leadership that the Black Community dosn't need

i got so many negative pieces from pat i stopped counting. they were straight up cruel stupid and rascist. just plain dumb. i'm no fan of her opponent. to his credit he is running a positive campaign. i really like the mail i received with him and obama. he has knocked on my door a number of times i might add in the freezing cold to explain the position of committemman to me and my family. thats the kind of example and leadership the community needs.

i also received those nasty mailers. according to the flyer it is not sponsored by any candidate. yet it mentions the name of her opponent with a plunger on his head. like you i really like the obama mailer her opponent sent out. it is very positive and uplifting. to see two brothers in a positive light for a change is really great example for the young people of our community.

i don't like her opponent either. but those negative mailers she sent out on him got me and a lot of people upset at her. no matter what i think of him he knocked on my door to the point of irritation. i also seen him and his crew out in the cold and snow working. i never saw her. not once did she knock on my door.

u never saw her cuz the spot of committeeman is not paying $100k/ year. from what i understand it is an unpaid position.

Pat is continuing the negative type of campaign that got her elected alderman in the first place.
